Gun violence responsible for three-quarters of 74 homicides in King County in 2017

Teenagers and young adults ages 18 to 25 accounted for nearly half of King County’s 74 homicide victims in 2017, representing a modest spike over the previous year. The number of young people — particularly young men of color — killed in confrontations with police also increased.
