The Scarlet Tree on Roosevelt Way at NE 66th was a favorite of mine for many reasons back in the day. Its life span ran from 1964 to 2005 when a fire took it out. Loved to go dancing there in the mid-80s. Great bands and good people were drawn to the place. And their breakfasts are also sorely missed. Roger Wheeling’s Post.

  1. Jonathan, it’s the kind of place you take for granted, you just assume it will always be there for your weekend breakfasts! Cheerful friendly wait staff, delicious food….not expensive, either!

  2. Good times. I remember a tiny dynamo cocktail waitress who would hoist the heavy drink-laden tray over her head and make her way through the noisy crowd. I used to watch her in awe.

  23. It was part of the evil triangle of bars in Roosevelt including Leroy’s and Starting Gate. I sat in often with the local and famous musicians there.
