Running the Tough Mudder / BEAR GRYLLS / Seattle (2012)

Finished in top 20! And yes, that’s THE Bear Grylls! We ran on Saturday, first wave (8am). 11-12 miles + ~28 obstacles, including getting shocked and fully submerged in ice baths. I was surprised at the archaic nature of the electrified wires… they just had two car batteries hooked up to dangling tentacles that you had to run through. What I wore: www.facebook.com

  1. They have these events all around US, Europe, South Africa, and I think Australia. There’s a bunch of them every year. I did one in New Jersey at the end of October. You can see what that was like in my videos.

  2. Great video! It’s so cool that Bear was at your event. The 2012 Tri-State had way too many people, but it was fun. I used a GoPro as well.

  19. You’ll find the exact gloves if you Google “CAT017416L.”
I got them at my local hardware store for $7 or $8. They were perfect… very grippy, low-profile, and not too hot and sweaty. And they look pretty neat, but of course it doesn’t matter how you look since you’re already screaming like a banshee through every obstacle.
